Richard is the Founder and Managing Director of RTC Group. From humble beginnings as a carpenter, Richard worked tirelessly day and night while studying at TAFE. Through exceptional dedication, talent, and top academic results, he was released early from his course—an early indicator of the success to come.
Drawing on strong business acumen and a deep respect for collaborative relationships, Richard steadily built a business that has since been recognised with numerous national industry accolades. As the organisation expanded, he surrounded himself with trusted advisors and professionals to help guide the company’s sustained growth.
Richard attributes his success to passion, a clear vision, the courage to challenge convention, resourcefulness, and the persistence to see hard work through to real commercial outcomes. These values are embedded throughout RTC Group’s culture.
As the Founder and Managing Director, Richard has built a highly respected organisation by consistently exceeding client expectations. He leads by example and encourages the entire team to adopt the Group’s philosophy to always “Strive for Excellence.”
His leadership extends beyond business. Richard is deeply committed to giving back to the community. He founded The Concept, a not-for-profit sports development centre based in Highfields, Newcastle, supporting youth through school and club sporting initiatives. This mission is further supported by Foundation #1, a registered charitable foundation with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status, which supports at-risk youth across local, national, and international communities through hope, sponsorship, and practical support.
Richard’s vision is to integrate RTC Group’s success with the development of its people and the communities it serves. He aims to grow Foundation #1’s impact while cultivating the next generation of leaders within the organisation.
Today, RTC Group has evolved from a multi-award-winning company in the Hunter Valley to a national leader with operations across South Australia, Tasmania, and New South Wales—and with plans to “Set the Standard” through continued national and international expansion.
