Macquarie House, a cherished heritage listed building situated on Watt Street in Newcastle, traces its origins back to the year 1822 when the original Sessions House was erected.
Under a design & construct contract, RTC took on the task of rejuvenating and restoring the building to its former grandeur. In control of the daily activities, RTC’s Site Manager was pivotal with insuring the fulfilment of the works in conjunction with all heritage requirements. The project presented several intricacies, notably the preservation of the heritage facade and the challenges of operating in a densely populated urban area. Skilful management of pedestrian flow, deliveries, and safety proved vital with contributing to the project’s success.
With its completion, Macquarie House now stands as a testament to architectural preservation and excellence.
